LASIK and Cataract Procedures at ADV Vision Centers

Our Happy Patients

"Staff was very experienced, professional and comforting. Eye surgery is a big step and the Doctor was very thorough. everything was explained professionally. BUT... Paperwork information was lengthly, online I filled out 2 times and was timed out at the end, all was GONE! Had to re-fillout yet again in the office. Needs some looking into?? I recommend ADV Vision."

Francine Waggoner

"I very happy with my surgery, no pain afterwards, no discomfort at all. i was able to resume my normal activity right away. I did had a problem with the stuff tho, for one i needed my appointment in santa maria that’s why i chose this doctor. The last minute surgery was an hour away. i had a hard time finding someone to drive me so far. We never talked about another going to another town. Then the doctor didn’t let me talk. I was ready to let him know how happy i was, but he was too busy talking he didn’t seem to care about my opinion. i felt i was just another eye surgery not a person. Some of us like to be seen like a person not a project."

Micaela Hernandez

"This was my first consultation appointment with Dr. Abroms and felt the visit went very well! I was referred to this office regarding my cataracts. I felt the staff was awesome and very thorough. I had the opportunity to ask questions and felt the doctor spent enough time with me with an extensive examination and also addressed another optical issue I have. I am confident that my future appointments and pending surgery will go as well."

Dolly Ornelas

"Awesome staff who went through everything in great detail and were very friendly. I felt they genuinely cared about my health and were not chasing money like summer practitioners. I understand it is hard to keep appointment times and this is the only reason they did not get a 5, they were running 30 minutes late and did not let me know or apologize. Little attention to detail can take the consultation from excellent to exceptional. I will recommended them to my family and friends."

Doug Copeland

"Just a great business. The staff is professional and very user friendly . Dr Abroms is exceptional in all that he has done for me. I highly recommend this practice!"

Robert Segal

"I'm in the process of planning cataract surgery, and so far - through two consults and pre-op visits - Dr. Abroms and the staff at ADV have been excellent."

DoctorMisterRnR

"So far so good. Only issue is cost w/ or w/o insurance. Every thing came out good so far. Cataracts done and sight is clearly better and better each day. Staff was great. Very interested, knowledgeable and friendly."

Doug Reed

"He was quick and to the point. He was not very explanatory as to what to expect and when. Third day after surgery and feel vision is still blurry. UPDATE: Vision got much better with time. Today have 20/25 vision, guess it was a slow healer. Second eye went perfect! Great sight the following day and very little tenderness. Have 20/20 vision in the second eye. Maybe I was expecting too much too soon."

T. & C. Beal

"Dr Abroms and his office staff are very caring people. They are also very efficient. When I called to schedule, the front desk staff was able to give an appointment date & time, that worked with my schedule. Once at the office, all of the staff were very respectable & welcoming. I love that there are bilingual staff!! When we were ready for cataract surgery, the staff were very respectful & knowledgeable with our questions. The surgery coordinator gave us time to discuss payment options with my family. She was very patient. The doctor & staff are amazing. I will highly recommend this office!!"

LASIK Pricing

One of the first things most of our potential patients ask is, how much does LASIK cost? At ADV Vision, we believe that finances alone should not prohibit you from living life free from glasses and contacts. We strive to make vision correction possible for as many people and budgets possible.

Ways to Pay for LASIK

We are committed to providing the absolute best care using the latest vision correction technology. We’re also committed to making the life-changing benefits of clear vision affordable. ADV Vision allows you to pay for your procedure in a variety of ways- from financing, to FSA/HSA’s and other plans.

How Long Does LASIK Last?

Many who are considering LASIK surgery wonder how long their results will last. The good news is that the LASIK procedure is considered to be a permanent form of vision correction, because it alters the shape of your cornea. However, your results also depend on your age at the time you have this surgery done.

When the lens of your eye hardens, this affects your ability to read small print, which will require reading glasses or the monofocal IOL procedure to correct. Remember that LASIK permanently reshapes your cornea, not your lens.

What Does LASIK Treat?

Younger eyes undergo changes, although they may not affect your eyesight. But if you’re over 40, your eyes will undergo noticeable changes. A common change is presbyopia, which is the hardening of the lens due to age.

It’s important to note that LASIK does not cause either presbyopia or cataracts, but it can correct them. Both of these conditions occur naturally in the majority of people after age 40. After surgery a high percent of patients enjoy better vision, even with the presence of age-related conditions, for the long term.

Is Cataract Surgery Safe?

Cataracts are another age-related vision condition; as your lenses continue to harden, they will become cloudy. A lens implant procedure can be ideal in this scenario.

Similar to cataract surgery, Refractive Lens Exchange (RLE) is a popular procedure for patients over 40. Unlike cataract surgery, RLE surgery uses ultrasound to replace the natural lens of the eye with an intraocular lens (IOL), and does not have to remove the cataract.

How Much Does Cataract and Other Surgery Cost?

The average cost of cataract and other surgeries depends on several factors, including whether you have Medicare coverage, an insurance company plan, or other means to reduce out-of-pocket expenses.

Being covered by Medicare could reduce your out-of-pocket costs to receive LASIK enhancement to correct astigmatism, undergo standard cataract surgery, or insertion of permanent contact lenses. Click below to find out how ADV Vision Centers can assist with the additional costs of laser surgery.
