One of the first things most of our potential patients ask is, how much does LASIK cost? At ADV Vision, we believe that finances alone should not prohibit you from living life free from glasses and contacts. We strive to make vision correction possible for as many people and budgets possible.
We are committed to providing the absolute best care using the latest vision correction technology. We’re also committed to making the life-changing benefits of clear vision affordable. ADV Vision allows you to pay for your procedure in a variety of ways- from financing, to FSA/HSA’s and other plans.
Many who are considering LASIK surgery wonder how long their results will last. The good news is that the LASIK procedure is considered to be a permanent form of vision correction, because it alters the shape of your cornea. However, your results also depend on your age at the time you have this surgery done.
When the lens of your eye hardens, this affects your ability to read small print, which will require reading glasses or the monofocal IOL procedure to correct. Remember that LASIK permanently reshapes your cornea, not your lens.
Younger eyes undergo changes, although they may not affect your eyesight. But if you’re over 40, your eyes will undergo noticeable changes. A common change is presbyopia, which is the hardening of the lens due to age.
It’s important to note that LASIK does not cause either presbyopia or cataracts, but it can correct them. Both of these conditions occur naturally in the majority of people after age 40. After surgery a high percent of patients enjoy better vision, even with the presence of age-related conditions, for the long term.
Cataracts are another age-related vision condition; as your lenses continue to harden, they will become cloudy. A lens implant procedure can be ideal in this scenario.
Similar to cataract surgery, Refractive Lens Exchange (RLE) is a popular procedure for patients over 40. Unlike cataract surgery, RLE surgery uses ultrasound to replace the natural lens of the eye with an intraocular lens (IOL), and does not have to remove the cataract.
The average cost of cataract and other surgeries depends on several factors, including whether you have Medicare coverage, an insurance company plan, or other means to reduce out-of-pocket expenses.
Being covered by Medicare could reduce your out-of-pocket costs to receive LASIK enhancement to correct astigmatism, undergo standard cataract surgery, or insertion of permanent contact lenses. Click below to find out how ADV Vision Centers can assist with the additional costs of laser surgery.
