Adam Abroms, MD

Dr. Adam Abroms, MD has been in practice on the Central Coast as a board-certified eye surgeon and ophthalmologist since 1999. He received his undergraduate degree in Physics and Applied Mathematics from Harvard University.  He received both MD and Masters of Surgery (CM) degrees from McGill University where he received an Osler Medical Aid Foundation Scholarship and a Hewlett-Packard Medical Graduate Award for being in the top of his class.

Dr. Abroms completed an internship in Internal Medicine at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, and then completed an Ophthalmology residency at University of California Irvine, where he was selected Chief Resident.  Following residency, he completed the prestigious fellowship in Strabismus under Dr. Marshall Parks in Washington, DC.

In addition to receiving numerous awards, Dr. Abroms has done physics research at University of Pennsylvania,  biophysics research at Harvard Medical School, and Ophthalmology research at UCLA. He has published research articles in scientific journals and written medical textbook chapters.  Dr. Abroms has done eye surgery and lectured in many countries including India, Vietnam, Costa Rica, and Honduras.

In his more than two decades of practice, he has performed tens of thousands of vision correction and ocular reconstructive procedures including cataract surgery, refractive surgery (LASIK), strabismus (crossed-eyes) surgery, eyelid surgery, Botox injections, pterygium surgery, glaucoma surgery, and many types of laser procedures. In addition to being referred patients from doctors throughout a large geographic region, numerous doctors have chosen Dr. Abroms to manage their own eye conditions and perform eye surgery on both themselves and their own family members.  Through his emphasis on constant ongoing education and training, Dr. Abroms continues to provide superior, state-of-the-art medical and surgical eye care.
